Manipulating space through sculpture, video and photography.
I am a conceptual artist focusing one on ways in which emotions are embodied in our environment and behaviors. Form follows concept in my work ranging across sculpture, video and photography. I observe nature not only as our physical surroundings but as human nature, our responses, aspirations and intuition, in a ceaseless cycle with our habitats. I am dedicated to nature not a something to be suppressed, but as a force that could set us free.
I was introduced to photography as a child within a family of camera enthusiasts. I am born and raised in Istanbul, Türkiye. I moved to the United States in 2016 to study acting. Theater, as a result, served as a catalyst for my pursuit of sculpture, installation and video art. I graduated from Northwestern University’s Art, Theory and Practice Department with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art, a double major in film and a minor in theater. I live and work in New Orleans, Louisiana.
